Description

“Believe in a love that is being stored up for you like an inheritance, and have faith that in this love there is a strength and a blessing so large that you can travel as far as you wish without having to step outside it.”
These are the words of Rainer Maria Rilke, the Austrian poet and novelist. The quote is taken from Letters to a Young Poet, a collection of ten letters he wrote to a young man at a military university who first wrote to the poet asking whether his own poems were any good. The letters are full of succinct advice on being honest with ourselves and garnering the courage to follow our creative careers. I read it to my dog a few years ago. He fell asleep, but don't let that deter you, sleeping is his life's work.
