Description

Flower Drop II was created in 2022, from a drawing in an old sketchbook. We have long been fascinated by the way sculptors in the 18th century approached flower sculpture, and how they went about creating a physical representation of something so fleeting and delicate. In Flower Drop II, some of the flowers portrayed are roses; others portray the exuberance of flowers and their fabulous variety but are not directly representational. They were modelled in clay using fingers, thumbs and small wooden tools before being moulded and cast in plaster of Paris. This panel is one of a pair with Flower Drop I and they can be purchased individually or together (the price listed is per panel).

Flower Drop II measures 52.5cm high x 38cm wide. It has a hook cast into the back for hanging.

Decorative plaster sculpture displayed on a blue wall with houseplant

Ide, devon

Deep in the rolling hills of Devon, down a winding country lane, you might stumble across our dusty workshop. Most days you’ll find us there too, elbow deep in clay and plaster. Our collection of pretty plaster plaques are sculpted in clay and cast in plaster of Paris. They are inspired by flowers and the natural world, and by the play of light and shade. We make them for the sheer joy of it, and we hope they will bring beauty and cheer to you and your home too.
