This spring blossom wreath features two lilac spidermums, three purple magnolia, one vibrant peony, and one zinnia flower. They are accompanied by green leafy stems and little green hydrangea blooms.
The flowers are made from hand painted papers, using acrylic inks and metallic lustres. My flower designs are deceptively sturdy. They may look fragile, but they are made with 300 gsm watercolour paper, which is a heavy card. Their colours will not fade either, so they are built to last. I made this as we approach spring, my favourite time of year. I’m so looking forward to seeing blooms pop out of the garden. These wreaths aim to capture the joy of springtime in your house all year long.
There is a steel hook to hang it on the wall, suspended with invisible fishing line.
Other colours and combinations can be made to order. Please get in touch if you would like to commission anything. I’m currently working on some wreaths that will depict the blooms of each month, so keep a look out for new designs.
Flower species have many traditional connotations. Chrysanthemums represent friendship and happiness. Magnolia represent luck and stability. Peonies represent love, wealth and beauty. Zinnias represent endurance, goodness and lasting affection. Purple flowers in general are said to represent success as well as royalty.
33 cm (13 inches) wide and tall.
Handmade from recycled 300 GSM paper (which is really sturdy), with paper-wrapped strong steel wire for the main frame of the wreath, and brass wire to attach the flowers and leafy stems.
Arrives boxed and wrapped with paper ribbon, ready to gift.
This item is not a toy.
Unsuitable for outside use or damp conditions, such as a bathroom.
Easy to care for: all it needs is a tickle with a microfibre or feather duster every now and then.

Welcome to the paper sculpture menagerie. My name is Kate and I make handmade paper sculptures to bring cheer to your décor. Every one of my pieces is one of a kind, made from recycled 300 gsm paper (really sturdy cardstock). Each design is tested for durability, and they are varnished with a UV protective lacquer to seal their edges and protect their vibrant colours. Each sculpture is designed, individually printed, cut, assembled and embellished entirely by hand to make sure each and every one has its own unique character. Birds are my most favourite subject. I also make flowers and other wildlife. I am inspired by countryside walks and garden visitors. I often describe myself as a seasonal maker, as I can often be found at my desk making cosy pieces in the autumn and bright, cheerful blooms in the summertime. I’ve been making my sculptures for over 15 years now, and my work aims to evoke the joy I find in the great outdoors. I do hope they make you smile.
