This blue tit sculpture is made from hand printed papers in blue, yellow, green and white. He sits on a wreath adorned with yellow blossom flowers. This handmade sculpture hangs on the wall via a steel hook to bring cheer to your décor.
The blue tit is made from a hand built paper frame, covered with hand cut paper feathers. I use traditional printmaking techniques, such as monotype and screen printing, to ensure his colours, markings and are unique to him. The way I build my sculptures by hand also gives him his own unique posture. No bird ever comes out the same! He is varnished with a UV protective lacquer, which seals his edges and ensures his vibrant colours will not fade, so he's as happy hanging in your window as he is on your wall. I design my sculptures to bring joy to your décor and share my love of wildlife and the great outdoors.
I make a variety of birds, which you can view in my shop.

Blue tits have been residents of the UK for thousands of years. They have been documented in 16th Century literature, but may have been common before then. Their colours and lively disposition mean that they are often associated with finding joy in life. You can often hear their delightful melodies in your garden, even on a grey day.

Welcome to the paper sculpture menagerie. My name is Kate and I make handmade paper sculptures to bring cheer to your décor. Every one of my pieces is one of a kind, made from recycled 300 gsm paper (really sturdy cardstock). Each design is tested for durability, and they are varnished with a UV protective lacquer to seal their edges and protect their vibrant colours. Each sculpture is designed, individually printed, cut, assembled and embellished entirely by hand to make sure each and every one has its own unique character. Birds are my most favourite subject. I also make flowers and other wildlife. I am inspired by countryside walks and garden visitors. I often describe myself as a seasonal maker, as I can often be found at my desk making cosy pieces in the autumn and bright, cheerful blooms in the summertime. I’ve been making my sculptures for over 15 years now, and my work aims to evoke the joy I find in the great outdoors. I do hope they make you smile.
