Credentials
The composition of Dahlias and Roses was inspired by a French tapestry chair back that Geoffrey spotted in the Victoria & Albert museum. Flowers and their representation in paint, print and textiles are a rich source of inspiration, as is nature. This relief is bold and expressively modelled, conveying the lushness and vigour of flowers at their high summer peak. The panel was modelled in clay using fingers, thumbs and small wooden tools before being moulded and cast in plaster of Paris, and then framed. It is available in a Limited Edition of ten.
Dahlias and Roses is supplied framed in a simple painted wooden frame. It measures 78cm high x 65cm wide, including the frame.
Please note, the first image shows this piece unframed - it will be supplied framed, as shown in the second and third images.
The frame incorporates 'cut outs' for hanging - this means it can easily be hung on two screws. It can also be hung on mirror plates, if preferred.
Our standard frame colour is Farrow & Ball's Dimity, a warm white which complements the cast.
Our plaster casts are for indoor use. They can be dusted with a soft brush - please don't get them wet.
This piece is cast and framed to order. The lead time is three to four weeks. Please contact us if you need it sooner - if we can help, we will!

Ide, devon
Deep in the rolling hills of Devon, down a winding country lane, you might stumble across our dusty workshop. Most days you’ll find us there too, elbow deep in clay and plaster. Our collection of pretty plaster plaques are sculpted in clay and cast in plaster of Paris. They are inspired by flowers and the natural world, and by the play of light and shade. We make them for the sheer joy of it, and we hope they will bring beauty and cheer to you and your home too.
