Helen is a contemporary dress created in a glorious colour inspired by the peaty earth of the Pennine Moors. This is a luxurious Irish linen with a smooth weave.
Simple and understated, Helen contains many hidden details; a fully faced scooped neckline, generous gathers create extra fullness in the skirt, the kimono sleeves are rolled at the hem to finish elbow length. Deep side seam pockets come as standard for all your bits and bobs.

Model is a UK size 12 and is wearing a size 2

Fabric and care guide

100% Linen: Woven in Ireland. This linen is woven in a mill run on green energy and is Oeko-Tex certified. 100% linen. Wash at 30 degrees using a mild detergent. Shake out and hang to dry. Medium iron as required. Linen will always seize up after washing but the fibres will soon relax when worn.

All of our garments are cut for comfort. Each style is dual sized and will be slightly looser on the smaller size. Please see our Helen size chart for finished garment measurements.

MADE TO ORDER - We make our garments to order so that nothing is wasted. We work to a three week schedule from order to dispatch. This may change during busy periods but we will always let you know/

Made in Lancashire, England

The Story

Named after my Nanna and my mums mother. Helen was a silk weaver at Withnell Mill. Silk weavers were paid a premium because it was a specialised job. Helen married Jack ( my grandad) and they lived in Withnell with their family.

Hi I'm Paula the founder of Withnell. I have been making clothes since I was a little girl. Altering, repairing and making for friends has been a huge part of my life. It has been a dream to develop my own brand and now I am living that dream.

I am a hands on designer. Everything is lovingly handmade in my studio sewing the threads of British tradition and quality together in unique, fun and easy to wear garments that defy trends and seasons.
