Need to Know

Each length of Jute Strinsel is approximately 2 metres. It should not be cut to size, otherwise it will all unravel and your floor will resemble the aftermath of a ticker tape parade.

Jute Strinsel must be kept a minimum of 1 metre away from fire, flame and other heat sources. Please do bear this in mind, especially if you use candles and/or fires (real flame or otherwise) at Christmas time. I don't use fire retardants on any of my products, but these are available to buy elsewhere in spray form should you want extra piece of mind or intend on using Strinsel in areas where this is required by law or legislation. Legally, I'm not able to offer fire retarding as a service, nor am I able to advise on this matter.

Jute Strinsel is made using Everlasto 100% Jute Twine. Everlasto products were developed at the James Lever Factory in Bolton, UK, where they've been manufacturing twine, cord and rope for over 150 years.

I keep marketing materials to a minimum and all packaging I use can be re-used, composted and/or widely recycled.

How excited was I when I realised how well the sustainable wonder-crop that is jute holds colour? Well… very, and whilst jute doesn't exactly sparkle, it certainly has a lustre that catches and reflects the light in a way cotton never will. So I now make Jute Strinsel too. It’s still plastic free and comes in so many colours.

This Neon Pop Strinsel is a combination of white, hot pink, yellow, grass green and teal jute. String might not sparkle, but this neon combo fizzes colour and will add a splurge of frivolity to any corner of the house or garden. Mine used to come out of tissue for birthdays, but has now been nabbed by my daughter and hangs round her mirror all year round.
