Description

Vintage ornate table-top upcycled into an art panel for the wall. The image has been taken from a 50s Sci Fi illustration and the florals from a Victorian seed packet. Sourced and reprinted by myself in fade resistant ink. I have then painted across the t...

Vintage ornate table-top upcycled into an art panel for the wall. The image has been taken from a 50s Sci Fi illustration and the florals from a Victorian seed packet. Sourced and reprinted by myself in fade resistant ink. I have then painted across the top in very thick textured layers and and distressed this to reveal the mauve undercoat. The text also appears in the colour of the undercoat. Finished with stencilled stars.

Finally varnished to provide a durable finish. I aim to create the feel of a genuinely aged, bohemian piece.

This will come with a wire on the back so it’s ready to pop onto the wall.

Hello, I’m Vikki, an upcycling artist from beautiful Dorset. I create statement décor from things that probably would have ended up in landfill. I combine imagery (the quirkier the better) with wording (sometimes sweary, always empowering) and bright paint colours and bring all of these components together in textured layers. I aim to create the feel of a genuinely aged, bohemian piece that not only recycles but will make you smile every time you look at it.
