The Madagascan sunset moth is a day flying moth, with strikingly beautiful colours. This is my homage to this magnificent moth.
The colours and pure beauty of this moth gives me a sense of something bigger and Devine. The Sunset moth is nature at its finest, a day flying moth found in Madagascar. Working from my own specimen, I tried to capture the colours and detail as true to the moth as possible and working BIG to show this moth in all its true glory. Reminiscent of walking along Whitecross street and being inspired by all the cooking smells from the lunch day market, the street art on the walls and absorbing the atmosphere and technicolour colour. Looking at it, I am transported back to a London pre pandemic carefree days, on the busy, vibrant streets and melting pot of culture. The message in this painting is my renewed hopes for a brighter future and transformation to a brighter world and also an appreciation for precious days gone by and lessons learnt in the last few years and our personal journeys in life.
Sunset on Whitecross is a one-of-a-kind, digital painting and collage, pigment print on German etching Hahnemühle paper, hand finished with acrylic varnish, glitter, spray paint. Framed in a bespoke, hand made, circular frame which is glazed. Hand signed on the back and comes ready to hang. Note this artwork is heavy! It is a real statement piece for the home and works in a contemporary and traditional setting. Price includes packing and shipping. Dimensions 100cm in diameter.

Butterflies symbolise rebirth and transformation. They have always featured heavily in my art, exploring themes of transformation and fragility in the forms of butterflies. I create small editions or one-of-a-kind pieces. I live life consciously, in appreciation for the smaller details of nature, striving to illuminate aspects of a subject that may go unnoticed. In a frenetic world, nature teaches us harmony and I am compelled to express this message through my art.
