Robins are the most delightful and friendly birds (unless you are another robin and you're in their territory, in which case, look out). My grandad used to have a friendly robin who would sit on his spade while he gardening, and ended up becoming so attached to him that he would hop into my grandad's kitchen, looking for crumbs. Is Albert suitable for beginners? Very much so. He is simply knitted flat on a pair of 4mm knitting needles, making him an excellent project for a beginner: no need to knit in the round. Basic skills that you need to know: stocking stitch, increasing by knitting into the front and back of a stitch (inc 1) and decreasing by knitting 2 stitches together (k2tog). There’s colour-changing on some rows, so you will need to use Intarsia technique to change yarns mid-row.
