Is Angus the Pheasant suitable for beginners?
Yes he is, although he does have a little more colour changing mid-row than some of the other knitted birds. He is simply knitted flat on a pair of 4mm (UK 8/ US 6) knitting needles, making him an excellent project for a beginner who knows the basics of knitting: no need to knit in the round. Basic skills that you need to know: stocking stitch, increasing by knitting into the front and back of a stitch (inc 1) and decreasing by knitting 2 stitches together (k2tog).
There’s colour-changing on some rows, so you will need to use Intarsia technique to change yarns mid-row. Your pheasant knitting kit includes a yarn shade organiser card to help you keep track of the different colours in Angus’s plumage.

Knitting needles and darning needles are not included as many knitters already own a pair - but if you'd like to add these to your kit, a pair of 4mm Pony aluminium knitting needles are £2.50, and a pack of 2 Pony or Hemline darning needles are £1.50.
All kit and parcel packaging is plastic-free, and recyclable.
The gift box measures 28cm x 19cm x 8cm.
