Need to Know
- Is Henrietta suitable for beginners? Very much so.
- She is simply knitted flat, making her a relaxing project for a beginner who knows the basics of knitting: no need to knit in the round.
- Basic skills that you need to know: stocking stitch, increasing by knitting into the front and back of a stitch (inc 1) and decreasing by knitting 2 stitches together (k2tog).
- What's included in your knit kit? A full colour printed knitting pattern, 4 different colours of high quality, soft DK acrylic yarn, polyester toy stuffing, black beads and thread, and cute chicken stickers.
- Knitting needles and darning needles are not included as many knitters already own a pair - but if you'd like to add these to your kit, pairs of 4mm knitting needles are £2.50 a pair, and a pack of 2 Pony or Hemline darning needles are £1.50.
- All kit and parcel packaging is plastic-free, and recyclable. Your kit will be sent by Royal Mail Tracked 24.
- The gift box measures 28cm x 19cm x 8cm.

A beginner-friendly knitting kit to create a cuddly brown hen, Henrietta, perfect for knitters who want a relaxing project. Say hello to Henrietta the Little Brown Hen! She's a very sweet girl, who likes nothing better than a cuddle and a sunny yard to scratch around in!
This beautifully presented hen knitting kit is carefully handmade and packed by me in the Scottish Highlands, and contains all the yarn and notions that you need to knit Henrietta, just add your own pair of 4mm knitting needles and a yarn darning needle. No need to order all the different yarns and bits and pieces, you can sit back, relax, and start knitting straight away.
There's a handful of hens that bustle around the village where I live - I'm always delighted when one pops up in the garden. They are all such big personalities, and all different lovely colours, too. I've added instructions for making different-coloured hens for when you've finished knitting Henrietta. It's a great way to use up any odds and ends of DK yarn in your stash.
