These miniature trophy heads are perfect for those who love the taxidermy aesthetic, but don't want the real thing!...
These miniature trophy heads are perfect for those who love the taxidermy aesthetic, but don't want the real thing!
They are happy snarling away on the garment of your choice, or are equally content being wall-hung as part of your interior décor!
They make the ideal Halloween Accessory, a gift for taxidermy fans, fox-lovers, natural history geeks and anyone who like to be surrounded by the quirky or the curious!
No miniature animals have been harmed in the making of these pieces, as each one has been individually sculpted from wool!
They have been created using the process of needle-felting, which involves stabbing at wool roving thousands of times until the desired shape is achieved. They have been finished with hand-painted glass eyes, and hand-painted resin teeth and noses.
They have then been mounted on a laser cut wooden shield, stained to resemble antique trophy shields. Each is signed on the reverse to affirm their handmade nature.
Each piece has been made by me ( Laura Cronin, aka Bumble & Earwig.)
They measure approximately 4.5cm, high, 5cm wide and 5.5cm deep.
They have been needle-felted from wools sourced within the UK.
They will vary very slightly due to their handmade nature.
The eyes are handmade from glass (sourced from within the UK) and painted by me.
The teeth and noses are cast from original moulds made by myself and also hand-painted and assembled my me.
The laser-cut shields are made from plywood.

Laura Cronin, aka Bumble & Earwig specialises in the creation of miniature curiosities through the medium of needle-felting.
These artworks are inspired by antique taxidermy, museum collections, scientific illustrations, and of course David Attenborough documentaries!
Every piece is painstakingly handmade, using a barbed needle to prod at wool roving thousands of times! It’s more fun than it may sound, but it does require a lot of time and patience!
