Introducing our 2025 Limited Edition bag - DEEP SEA - with artwork by Lifeforms Art.
This year we're shining a light on the importance of our oceans, and for the first time ever we'll be donating a percentage of the sales of each limited edition bag to charity. Our nominated charities are the RNLI and Fishermen's Mission, which are very close to our hearts.
THE ARTISTS - LIFEFORMS ART
Lifeforms Art is the Hughes family from beautiful West Wales.
"We’re conservationists and artists creating art to wear and share, to raise awareness for conservation and to celebrate nature. We create art of the creatures that amaze, inspire, need a little more understanding and provide gateways for people who want to discover more about the amazing natural world.
Every day, we are inspired and thrilled by the beauty and diversity of nature around us. It is our mission to share the thrill and to help others in the ongoing quest to protect the living wonders who share this planet." Ian and Kerry Hughes.
THE CHARITIES -
RNLI - The charity that saves lives at sea. They do this through lifeboat search and rescue, lifeguards, water safety education and flood rescue. Powered primarily by kind donations, their search and rescue service has been saving lives for 200 years. The RNLI relies on thousands of dedicated volunteers to run this lifesaving service. Separate from the coastguard and independent of government, they are a charity with one aim – to save every one.
The Fishermen's Mission - this is the only national charity that works solely to support active or former fishermen and their families. They offer practical, financial and emotional support. They also provide a 24/7 emergency service to assist with accidents or illness at sea. They don't receive any government or lottery funding which is another reason we wanted to support them.
Inside the Bag -
Recycled crushed, washed and dried whelk shells. This bag contains approximately 5Kg of crushed whelk shells. Great for cacti, succulents and houseplants. Alternatively you can mix the shells into soil or compost to improve drainage and aeration.
- This is a natural product from the sea and we do our best to remove any foreign material.

Shell on Earth
New Quay, Wales
Hi, I'm Caryl, co-founder of Shell on Earth. I launched this company along with my husband, Jordan, in 2019. Our desire was to recycle the shells generated at our family's seafood processing business, rather than sending them to landfill.
We’ve been processing shellfish here on the West coast of Wales for over 40 years. We currently specialise in processing whelks.
The whelks are caught locally in traditional pots, a low impact method of fishing which means minimal damage to the sea floor and marine habitats. We’re passionately committed to sustainability and are always looking for new ways to do better.
It's estimated that 5,000 tonnes of waste shells are generated in the UK fishing industry every year. We’re proud to not only reduce our waste output from the factory, but also to help support a circular economy by utilising 100% of the whelks we process.
