For times when you want to convey your feelings with something a little more substantial than a card, why not say it in silver? These contemporary bracelets are designed to provide visible reassurance to the wearer and make sure your message remains in focus.

Entirely handmade and hand-stamped in recycled sterling silver, these bangles have a gorgeously tactile hammered surface, with a soft, brushed satin finish that perfectly echoes the gentle sentiments of the words they carry.

Wear them alone as a talisman of encouragement, or stack them together for a jangle of positive thoughts - they also make the perfect gift for anyone in need of a little comfort or who may appreciate a physical reminder that even the toughest times can be overcome!

Need to know

Sold individually but designed to also be stackable as a set, each of these cuff bangles is entirely handmade and hand-stamped from solid, recycled sterling silver.

Each bangle is 4mm wide and just over 1mm thick, with the length and circumference varying according to the different sizes. They have each been hammered to create a softened texture which moves beautifully in the light, and have a lovely brushed satin finish which is both contemporary and incredibly tactile.

Each bangle is individually handmade to order, so please allow a lead time of up to four days (plus delivery) - this may need to be increased during busier times of the year (such as Christmas). Please be reassured you will be contacted directly if there is likely to be any extension to this for any reason.

The wording is stamped by hand with 1.5mm high uppercase letters, and as such has an intentionally 'relaxed' freestyle placement. This means that the final bangle will likely differ slightly from the ones shown in the images, with some letters being more pronounced than others. This contributes to the organic feel of each one and means that although made to the same design they are still all unique from each other.

Please use the customisation box in the menu to add your required wording and check carefully to make sure the spelling is exactly as you wish it to appear. Available characters include the alphabet from A to Z in uppercase letters, the numbers 1 to 9, a comma/apostrophe, a full stop, a dash (-) and the ampersand (&) symbol, with a total limit of up to 25 characters, including spaces.

The comfort and fit of a cuff bangle is very much dependant on wrist size, as although there is some flexibility in the metal for adjustment, they should not be repeatedly pulled open or closed (more details on this further down!) To help achieve the most comfortable fit there are three sizes available, with the approximate measurements as follows:

Small (S) - Inner Circumference 17cm
Medium (M) - Inner Circumference 18cm
Large (L) - Inner Circumference 19cm

The inner circumference is the total inside measurement of the bangle, including the gap (which is approximately 2.5cm).

My recommendation is to measure your wrist circumference and select the bangle which is one to two centimetres larger, depending on how tight or loose you wish it to be when worn. If buying for someone as a gift then I would suggest opting for a medium size, as there is some flexibility with the design and this should fit most people - cuffs are easier to extend gently in size than make smaller.

If you require a bespoke size outside of these perimeters then please get in touch and I will do my best to help!

Due to their weight, each bangle has been fully hallmarked by The London Assay Office as 925 Sterling Silver and also includes my own unique sponsor's/makers mark 'KAT'. This serves as a guarantee of authenticity to prove that the metal is of the quality and finesse described.

First Class Tracked 24 Delivery is included as standard with an optional upgrade to Special Delivery available if required.

PUTTING ON AND REMOVING A CUFF BANGLE

Please note that care needs to be taken to ensure cuff bangles are put on and taken off correctly to avoid damaging them. They should always be turned vertically, with the bangle then made to slide gently over the wrist via the gap before being turned to sit flat against it. Removal is done the same way.

This ensures that no unnecessary pressure is put on the metal and that the bangles continue to hold their original C-shape.

Whilst there is some flexibility in the silver to allow for a slight adjustment of the gap in order to ensure a perfect fit, they should never be forcibly opened or closed repeatedly. Doing so will not only cause them to become misshapen, but it will harden the metal and cause stress to the bangle which may eventually cause it to crack and even break - in much the same way a metal paperclip will eventually snap if it is bent too often!

Please see the videos for a demonstration of how to wear a cuff bangle safely.

ABOUT THE PACKAGING & SHIPPING

Due to weight and value, these bangles already includes the gift packaging upgrade to a ribbon-tied cardboard gift box as standard, which is why the option to select it is not included on this listing. All items are sent in mailing boxes, mailing bags or padded envelopes as appropriate.

Shipping within the UK is already included via Royal Mail's Tracked 24 service, with an optional upgrade to Special Delivery available for an additional charge at checkout if required.

If the item is a gift and you wish it to be sent direct to the recipient, then please make sure the mailing address is correct during the checkout process.

Any upgrades in postage chosen will be for the purposes of achieving higher priority and more accurate tracking within the Royal Mail system itself, rather than a faster processing time from me as a seller.

Please be aware that I am unable to guarantee specific delivery times of orders once posted.

GIFT MESSAGING

If your purchase is a gift and you wish to include a handwritten message on a tag then I am more than happy to provide this service free of charge, regardless of packaging choice.

Please include any details in the drop-down menu option. As mentioned before, if you wish the item to be sent direct to the recipient then please make sure the mailing address is correct during the checkout process.

If there is anything else at all that you would like to know about a particular item then please don’t hesitate to send me a message and I’ll do my best to help!

You can find out a little more about me and my work via the Shop Storefront section, but some of the most important points are covered below.

ABOUT THE JEWELLERY & MATERIALS I USE

I mainly work with fine silver, 925 sterling silver and 935 and 940 Argentium sterling silver. The latter is a fairly new alloy which is stronger, brighter, and whiter than traditional sterling and is more tarnish resistant.

Argentium is also hypoallergenic, making it great for those who have an allergy to traditional sterling silver. I also use copper and brass in my work and often combine it with silver to create more striking mixed-metal designs.

HALLMARKING

In accordance with British law, all silver items over 7.78 grams will be hallmarked by The London Assay Office, complete with my maker’s mark ‘KAT’. The exact Hallmarking stamp for metal type will be governed by the lowest classification grade of silver in a piece, which in the majority of cases for my work will be 925 sterling silver.

Items under 7.78 grams in weight are not required to be hallmarked by law, but any description will always accurately state the exact composition of metals used. For more information please see the London Assay Office Dealer’s Notice on their own website.

PRODUCT IMAGES

Every item I make is handcrafted by me to my own designs. Due to the nature of the materials and techniques used, some pieces are unique and 'one of a kind', especially when featuring sea glass or other natural materials. If an item is described as such, then the pictures you see will be of the exact item that will be received by a customer.

If I do create a design that can be accurately reproduced then I may make more than one at a time. This means the same images may be used on repeat listings, where due to the nature of handmade jewellery manufacturing methods there may be some very slight differences or variations between the item shown in photographs and the actual one received.

I will only do so if these variations are absolutely minimal, and in all cases you are always welcome to request more information or images for any item I have for sale before making a purchase.

CARE RECOMMENDATIONS

All the jewellery I sell is handmade and as such requires special treatment to ensure its longevity. Aftercare advice on how to best take care of your jewellery is provided in a leaflet and included with all orders.

Please take care to protect it from contact with such things as perfumes, hair sprays, moisturisers and cleaning fluids etc which may contain ingredients that can tarnish or otherwise affect the materials from which it is made. Bleach products in particular can very quickly tarnish silver metals, as can the chemicals in swimming pools and hot tubs.

Sea glass is somewhat toughened by the tumbling process it has undergone, but ultimately it is still glass and needs to be treated appropriately. In the event that it should become marked or scratched on the surface, a gentle cleaning with either a baby wipe or a soft brush (such as a toothbrush) and some soapy water should help fix this.

If you have any questions at all about the maintenance or care of your handmade jewellery then please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
