Description

Say hello to Henrietta the Little Brown Hen! She's a very sweet girl, who likes nothing better than a cuddle and a sunny yard to scratch around in! Would you like to knit Henrietta? It's easy – you'll find everything that you need to knit a cuddly chicken inside this fun knit kit!

This beautifully presented hen knit kit is carefully handmade and packed by me in the Scottish Highlands, and contains all the yarn and notions that you need to knit Henrietta – just add your own pair of 4mm knitting needles and a yarn darning needle, and you're ready to go. No need to order all the different yarns and bits and pieces – you can sit back, relax, and start knitting straight away. It's all there for you! I've added instructions for making different-coloured hens for when you've finished knitting Henrietta. It's a great way to use up any odds and ends of DK yarn in your stash. There's a handful of hens that bustle around the village where I live - I'm always delighted when one pops up in the garden, wandering around under the bird feeder, looking for treats. They are all such big personalities, and all different lovely colours, too.

Your bird knitting kit is presented in a large, stylish gift box, and bundled up in plastic-free, recyclable packaging. This chicken knit kit is the perfect, original gift for a knitter, or a hen owner - they'll love knitting Henrietta, and the kit includes some cute chicken stickers to brighten up their day, too!

Need to know

Is Henrietta suitable for beginners? Very much so. She is simply knitted flat, making her a relaxing project for a beginner: no need to knit in the round. Basic skills that you need to know: stocking stitch, increasing by knitting into the front and back of a stitch (inc 1) and decreasing by knitting 2 stitches together (k2tog).

What's included in your knit kit?

A full colour printed knitting pattern
4 different colours of high quality, soft DK acrylic yarn
Polyester toy stuffing
Black beads and thread
Cute chicken stickers

Knitting needles and darning needles are not included as many knitters already own a pair - but if you'd like to add these to your kit, pairs of 4mm knitting needles are £2 a pair, and a pack of 2 Pony darning needles are £1.

All kit and parcel packaging is plastic-free, and recyclable.

The gift box measures 28cm x 19cm x 8cm.
Henrietta The Hen is 16cm tall.
