Hi my name is Kathryn, I am the founder of The Yorkshire Pasta Company and a proud mummy of 2, I founded The Yorkshire Pasta Company when I was only 27. I’m so proud to have started the first British Pasta brand and to have done it so sustainably.
I love running the business, it has been a steep learning curve and I’ve learnt so much! I have met so many amazing people and businesses over the last 5 years.
Some of my highlights so far include appearing on James Martin, making the Finals of the Great British Entrepreneur Awards and supplying Harrods. I am always blown away to hear Italians raving about our Yorkshire Pasta and hearing stories of it being sent to Italy to show family!
Favourite pasta dish: A rich and decadent bolognese with ample parmesan and a very garlicky garlic bread!

Many industrial manufacturers have lost touch with the traditional techniques, opting for rapid, high throughput methods. We want to take pasta back to basics, with no compromise on flavour, making pasta slowly and authentically; this is essential for enhancing the flavour of the grain and the pasta’s ability to absorb sauces. Some say it even results in a more easily digestible pasta.
It’s never been more important to think about environmental impact, and it’s especially important to me as a mum of two little boys. When I started Yorkshire Pasta, I knew I wanted to do my best to be sustainable – but believe me, it’s not as easy as it sounds!
For example, I looked at 40 different types of packaging to find a plastic free solution!
It’s been worth the effort to be sustainable in every way we can – we’re all so proud of how we work, and we’re always looking for new ways to be even more ‘green’.
