This painting is echoes the desperate search for wildflowers that bees rely on. Urbanisation encroaching on their natural habitat and pesticides destroying our native wildflowers have seen a dramatic decline in our pollinators.
Inspired by a personal encounter one day and finding a motionless and exhausted white tailed bumblebee on a footpath. Scouring the surroundings for a single wildflower was shocking and highlighted how little there was for her.
I found a single convolvulus flower and placed her gently and she engulfed the nectar, then a thistle flower. I left her revived and I felt a sense of unity helping this Queen Bee. This painting not only shows the exquisite detail and beauty of the bee but serves as a reminder that together we can all do a little bit to help the plight of our bees and pollinators.

Butterflies symbolise rebirth and transformation. They have always featured heavily in my art, exploring themes of transformation and fragility in the forms of butterflies. I create small editions or one-of-a-kind pieces. I live life consciously, in appreciation for the smaller details of nature, striving to illuminate aspects of a subject that may go unnoticed. In a frenetic world, nature teaches us harmony and I am compelled to express this message through my art.
