Perfect for a generous, cosy tea, this elegant mug is crafted from Parian Porcelain - a wonderfully tactile clay with a smooth, matte finish that feels luxurious to hold. Coloured throughout in a choice of four pleasing colours it offers a bold, timeless look. Each piece is slip-cast and carefully hand-carved in a pretty scalloped texture. Then twice-fired for durability, and polished to feel delightful on the fingertips. The interior has a clear glaze for easy cleaning, while the exterior remains a soft matte finish. These ceramics are designed to elevate your daily cuppa with every sip.
Ps. If you turn this piece upside down you'll find it's birthday carved into the base!
Each piece is completely handmade by Elle in her Leicester studio.

My name is Elle and I run Speckled Grey.
I love to make satisfyingly tactile wares to celebrate everyday life. My work is all about bright, matte colours and soft, hand-carved textures. I work by slip-casting with silky Parian porcelain and polishing up each piece to be huggable in your hands. This creates a soothing but vibrant aesthetic to cheer your senses and help create a home you adore.
After my degree, I spent ten years as a delftware painter whilst honing my skills as a maker. I'm continuously learning about this brilliant material and tweaking and refining my practice all the time. I’ve been lucky enough to see my work visit some wonderful places and I hope you find something to treasure here!
