Lucy and Larry are a pair of lovebirds! Don’t they make the perfect couple? Lovebirds are always extremely attached to their partners, and can be very lonely without them, so you should definitely knit a pair. That’s why this romantic knitting kit contains everything that you need to knit two adorable lovebirds!
Lucy and Larry are soft, cuddly, and the perfect size to hop into your hand for a squeeze. They’d make a thoughtful gift for a Valentine, or for the real-life lovebird couples in your life.
Each bird knitting kit is carefully handmade and packed by me, and will contain all the yarn and notions that you need to knit a pair of lovebirds – simply add your own pair of 4mm knitting needles, a yarn darning needle and an ordinary sewing needle, and you're ready to go. No need to order all the different yarns and bits and pieces – you can sit back, relax, and start knitting straight away. It's all there for you!

Need to know
Are Lucy and Larry suitable for beginners? Very much so. They are the easiest of all the knitted birds to make. The lovebirds are simply knitted flat on a pair of 4mm (UK 8/ US 6) knitting needles, making them an excellent project for a beginner who knows the basics of knitting: no need to knit in the round. Basic skills that you need to know: stocking stitch, increasing by knitting into the front and back of a stitch (inc 1) and decreasing by knitting 2 stitches together (k2tog). There’s no colour-changing mid-row, making this a very chill knitting project indeed.

Knitting needles and darning needles are not included as many knitters already own a pair - but if you'd like to add these to your kit, a pair of 4mm Pony aluminium knitting needles are £2, and a pack of 2 Pony darning needles are £1.
All kit and parcel packaging is plastic-free, and recyclable.
The gift box measures 31cm x 21cm x 10cm.
Lucy and Larry the Lovebirds are both 13cm tall.
